We already established that you went over board on this one hehe but I'm too tired and way too cranky to attempt to play it again! It looks really good though and is a quite bit tricky and don't worry about it being so big 'Cause it happens you know, You get excited and stuff and get carried away but your game is a good kind of carried away (so far)!!!!! I will post back when I have COMPLETED it (if I ever do, in this decade any way - hahaha just messin) !!! :D :D :D

Shorty,

Can't you keep your love life private? I would rather read what people think of this level and not all the lovey-dovey stuff.

Getting prepared for the blasting.............

I agree Maureen, can someone pass the bucket please.

And, no, we're not frigid old spinsters, we have love lives too! :P

I agree...This is for level comments and such. It is wonderful that you two love each other...but we do not need to be a part of it. Sorry, I don't mean to insult.

You give them what for girls, the computer and phone at the same time.
A little showing off I think.

Adventure in wonderland

Post by Dominique » Thu Feb 24, 2005 6:48 pm

Hi Shorty, very nice level that last one. However, is it normal that the first coins can not be picked up ? Poor stinky (or whoever the red hat is) keeps on walking on them but they persist .... also, there is a coin in the labyrinth that can not be reached. Is this meant to be or just another trick ? thanks for your reply.

STRUTH ! About 8 levels in one here ! It is MAMMOTH !

I've done most bits but not all in one go so haven't got to the elusive exit yet. Mushrooms 'n' flames looks tricky so will tackle that later. Lots of nice ideas though...

Nuff said bout yer love life me thinks .. there's always PMs ya know ...

Keep em coming - we can never have too few new levels to play

Hi shortys-boo,

Listen up all new comers to this Forum :-

There are 4 Golden rules to be followed if you post a level up to this Forum.

1. All Rainbow coins must be gettable.

2. All Bonus coins must be gettable.

3. All of the characters must be able to Exit.

4. Most important of all - just BEFORE you post a level up you play it yourself and ENSURE that all of the above 3 Golden rules can be met.

This is clearly not the case with this level as the Rainbow coin by the white square button is completely enclosed in SOLID OBJECTS

At this point - I just gave up in despair :?

Right you are Malc, but I think you still need a #5 rule: All the previous rules are only applyed to levels wich are meant to be played (exceptions: visual levels, etc...)

Oooer .. hadn't got as far as the impossible coins ...

Testing your own levels is good advice - I've nearly posted some corkers if I hadn't triple checked everything.

For new creators I would like to encourage you to watch for too much data in a level.

In this particular one, my older computer gets bogged down. This happens when hundreds of something is used. I used the editor to cut back on some of it such as the number of coins and the number of unnecessary mushrooms that aren't blocking me but are fillers of space. This then helped me to be able to play the game in regular motion instead of slow motion :)

Then the game was fun but I didn't have time to finish it. As it happens, I wouldn't have been able to. I'm sure you can fix this one to where the ending is doable. You can then delete the file you uploaded and upload the fixed one.

I'm getting that more and more Ramonda. So much so that I have stopped downloading levels from people I know do this. I haven't downloaded this one because of the size. I like big levels but this is ginormous, and I end up in slow motion too. Not good. :(

I'll have to stick to itsy bitsy ones from now on, methinks.

I am surprised at some of the comments here about this level

Post by mpetva » Thu Feb 24, 2005 10:53 pm

Guys,
I don't post much but I do try to play all the levels posted here. I am a bit surprised all of you got so worked up over someone making some personal comments. Geez, give it a break. I know that this forum is supposed to be only for levels etc. but I don't think posting something human now and then is THAT annoying or offensive.

Additionally, give shorty-boo a break. It is a great level, though it is a bit too big and also has one or 2 flaws. But shorty-boo is new at this and I know when I create levels (which I never post cause they don't show much imagination compared to most of you guys/gals), sometimes you play test but still overlook a problem. So instead of being so critical, give some positive feedback and I bet that shorty-boo will turn into a great level maker. and all of us will reap the benefits!

Just had to put in my 2c/ worth

Thank you very much mpetva, I totally agree with you about the comments that were made on this level.. It's his second level and all , I know if I had got all this feedback I would be really hurt and most likely I would never post my levels again... About the love life comments, I understand and I figured I'd get some rises out of people but then again I did not post anything lovey dovey on here and would not.

DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED shorts-boo, You're doing grreat! I'm going in to play the level again and I will beat it!

I've seen levels on here some as big as yours or even bigger which people did not leave negative comments on as much, I'm sure it's because we're not in the click we're in the Newbie group but that's ok!

Just for you wonderlanders I will go in and delete the stuff I posted though I saw nothing wrong with it!

I tried to give it a go but I experienced a system error and memory access violations. Maybe if we give shorty-boo a chance to make some adjustments it might work better. It looks nice but after I went through the red teleporter my system froze and the error occured. I tried it again and was not able to pick up the rainbow coins or move any items, and wham another system error :( :?:

I will watch for an updated version.

I would appreciate it if you have nothing nice to say than don't say anything at all.. If his level bothers you that much then don't play it and don't say anything about it. I would never make such rude comments to anyone like you guys have - That's just wrong... I'm fine not being in "the click" so dont bother us and we wont bother you! It's sad out of all you wonderlanders there are only a FEW really nice people the rest tread with their noses in the air like they are better than some, sorry to say you're not! (is not mentioning any names)! There are some games in the forum that are horrific and also undoable / ALSO HUGE ONES and I'm wondering why people lie to them and say that their games r good ? I'm a very honest person so I just don't understand it... Please no more negative comments, Keep them to yourselves!

i agree with shorty and mpetva..mpetva, thanks for your kind words..whats the harm of saying what you feel..eversince we joined this forum, we have been treated unkindly with the exception of a few people..we came here to have fun..too bad others have nothing better to do in life than critize others instead of making them feel welcome..the reason im posting this here, instead of discussion area is because the last post i made in there, no one even responded except for one..i guess we have been banned..its ok, really..life is to short for this kind of petty nonsense!!!! ohbehave, out....

If you all would stop your complaining and play the game using good judgment every part of this game is attainable. I have played it several times. IT ALL WORKS FINE!!

The comments on this level are not rude comments. People are just letting you know that the level is too big for some systems, too many items so the game runs slow, etc. This is so the author can fix it so that it IS playable. Malc pointed out that a coin was impossible to obtain. Lori's system froze - TWICE - she actually restarted & tryed AGAIN. She didn't say it was a bad level - only let you know what happened so that the author could possibly fix it.

Do you want people to lie and say it's playable when it isn't? Personally, I WANT to know if something is wrong with one of my levels so I can make it right! A few months ago I submitted a level I thought was pretty good - played it through one last time, everything worked. Malc pointed out a flaw to me. So I hit myself on the head, then proceeded to fix the mistake. If he hadn't pointed out my mistake, I would've gone on my merry way, never knowing what I had done wrong & possibly repeating the same error in another level.

People are only trying to help - how can you improve your levels if you don't know what you're doing wrong???

Hi All,

YOU CANNOT GET ALL OF THE RAINBOW COINS IN THIS LEVEL

Do you think I would for 1 minute make such a comment without checking it out first. :?:

You have said that you have completed this level - you even sent me a PM to that effect with a personal insult

WELL - Take a 'butchers look' at the 2 attached pics

YOU tell me how it is possible to get the Rainbow Coin circled - if you can then I will offer you a full and unreserved apology
