My game - Fifth Element Racer MY GAME MAKER LOST TEMPS

Post by Technos72 » Wed Apr 21, 2010 7:30 pm

I will try to make money online using Paypal and Game Maker (It's legal. They allow you to sell). I have some game ideas and this game is one of them, Fifth Element Racer.

Fifth Element Racer is a racing game based on the elements of nature; fire, water, earth, and wind. There's a fifth element and it's about space. I've done a little research and decided to put space in. Here's what I may include:

- Fifty race tracks, ten for each element
- Five race cars (unless you want more)
- Multiplayer. 2, 3, and 4 player
- Checkpoints on the racetrack
- Some tracks not loops; Point to point
- Online two player (it's unlikely for it to appear)
- Let people manually post their race times on YouTube and be put on
scoreboards on my website
- Cost $3.00, $4.00 if I can get the online feature to work

That's what I'm going to do :D

The demo will only have two of each track for element (10 tracks), and one car (if you agree for more cars, I'll add more in demo). No multi or online. Is this a fair deal?

DUE TO MANDITORY SCHEDULED MAITENENCE, my game maker is not working. Here's the problem when I play the game. What's wrong?

The /Temp/ path in the filename means you saved it to a temporary folder and Windows automatically deleted it.

A) It's a temporary folder. Windows deletes it when you're no longer using it to save space.

B) There's no way (as far as I know) to recover anything from a deleted Temp folder.

Unless...

Kooky or Nobody, can you please give me zipped copies of the temp files? They're in Local disk - Documents - Admin - Local Settings - Temp. Then the game maker file. Pls do it!

I don't really see the point of giving you temp files - they just delete themselves and so they will again. You should save your stuff somewhere else.

I'll make copies of the files somewhere else on my computer. This won't happen again when I get the files

Well, our temp files are different from yours, so only if you're missing the temp folders would they be necessary. I think that you're going to have to start over on your .gmk file. :(
