Where are your fingers when you play Wonderland?

Post by billy bob »

The finger right of my thumb on the left hand is on my left arrow key.
My middle finger on my right hand is between the up arrow and the down arrow key.
The finger right of my middle finger on my right hand is on the right arrow key.
If I want to press enter I will move my middle finger over to the enter key and press.
The leftest finger on my left hand goes on the leftest shift key.
When I want to press esc I move my left hand up to the esc key and press it with my middle finger on my left hand.

My middle finger alternates between the up and down keys. My neighboring fingers rest on the left and right keys. If necessary, I use my index finger to press shift. I never paid attention to when I press ESC, but I typically press it with my index finger.

My fingers are above the keyboard when I play Wonderland.

Right hand: Index finger left, middle finger alternates up/down, ring finger right.
Left hand: Middle/index fingers ALWAYS on Enter (that's why I can switch between characters so fast, BTW) and I use the right Shift key, which is directly below Enter.

ESC I only use when I want to quit the level or pause it, I press it with my left index finger.
Rest in peace, Kym. I hardly knew ya.
Rest in peace, Marinus. A bright star, you were ahead of me on my own tracks of thought. I miss you.

This.

I use my right index finger for Enter and Shift. The only time I use my left hand is for Esc.

I press the left shift key because my left hand is still in the word typing position, but when I play Wonderland it goes downwards and my leftest finger goes on the leftest shift key. So it is easier to just press it than move another finger to do so. And also, I have to have my left hand close to the esc key. I have to pause instantly in several occasions.

Isn't it hard to press the arrow keys with your thumb on the shift key?

Touchpads aren't used in Wonderland (I have a laptop too).
(No capitals at start and "i", and no "." or "!" at the end.)

His thumb isn't always on shift, he just moves it up whenever he needs to press it.

On laptops, touchpad=mouse. But... oh yeah, you don't need to click anything in Wonderland. :P

Quit worrying about everyone's spelling, capitalization, and punctuation. It doesn't matter.

You have to press the arrow keys when you press shift.

It doesn't matter to you (and please - don't divert the topic to this. You can just ignore it).

Right hand: middle finger alternates between up and down keys, ring on right, index on left. I use either my index or my middle to press Enter.

Left hand: in its typing position, except when I need to press a key, in which case I use both my index and my middle to press Esc, and my middle to press Shift.

... You do realize that you're the one who's diverting the topic by pointing out every single mistake someone makes in a post at any given time?

You might care about that, and it's fine, but stop pointing it out every single time. It's fine if you care about spelling mistakes and everything like that, but there's absolutely no need to point out every single one people make.

Okay, so, correct grammar, spelling, etc. is important to you - I'm fine with that, and I'mma letchu finish, but you don't need to point it out all the time.

That out of the way...

I have my left hand on the WASD keys as if I were playing Half-Life 2 or another FPS, but I have my right hand on the arrow keys instead of the mouse. It works, but I still wish I could play Wonderland with the WASD keys instead of the arrow keys. :P

Just to clarify: we are talking about classic trilogy, not WA. We can talk about WA.
(Talk about the argument here.)

RTW:

Right: Index on Left, Middle on Up (alternating when needed), Ring on Right. Middle jumps to ENTER/RETURN when needed.

Left: Index and Middle rest on Left Shift (I use it a lot). Index and/or Middle when jumping up to ESC.

WA:

Right: MOUSE

Left: Index on RIGHT, Middle on Up, Ring on LEFT.

At first, my right hand was on the arrow keys, jumping over to the mouse when using magic. Then I realized that was a STUPID thing to do! I switched when I got to an adventure that had POP magic and a timer button.[/b]

Interesting question.

Well for me, my right hand is always on the cursors,
& occasionally I shall use my left hand for the shift key
and also for using the ALT-X commands.

When I'm in the Wonderland editor I use the mouse a-lot.

When I'm hungry my left hand has a cupcake.
