Hey thanks! I didn't even realize. What a way to celebrate, I got "solid gold" on WSW yesterday! (Of course with a little help from my friends)

What is the South Beach diet?

Sounds like you have to eat a lot of seaweed.

Thanks everybody. Cat, the cat, MAD, Popo, Lillian, Gen, Mette. It's been
a pleasurable year.

By the way, someone accidentally sent their photo to me instead of popo.

Anyone know who it is?

popo:

South Beach diet is one of the "low carbohydrate" diets. Lots of protein, don't worry too much about fats, but eliminate most carbohydrates. It's funny how everything seems to come back around eventually. I remember my mother deciding to go on a diet a half century ago and cutting down on "starches".

Actually seems to be working fairly well for me, and I just heard some research on public radio the other day suggesting that while the foods on this diet tend to have higher caloric content, people tend to consume fewer calories because they are satisfied sooner.

I don't know, so far it seems to be working ok for me.

That's like the Atkins Diet then, but sounds much more exotic.

I couldn't do a diet like that, I like my bread too much. Crusty bread with cream cheese and black pepper, and a few sticks of celery. Yummy. 8)

Hope it works for you Steve. :D

Hi Roger and Steve - congratulations to both of you.

Roger - many, many thanks to you for my description. You are SO RIGHT. It'a amazing how you know all that. I heard a peeping tom was seen in our neighbourhood recently. Will notify the authorities to look for a peeping roger instead :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

The picture of Popo is perfect. It exactly fits my description of her - I was just polite enough not to mention her "floppies".
