Okay, one last time.

If you think the Editor's a game, then okay, you think it's a game. However, you CAN NOT expect people to agree with you as a result.

If this was all about other peoples' opinions instead of putting it to a vote, then I apologize.

I'm not trying to make you think that. The only reason I locked the topics to begin with is because you went off and said that if other people don't think the Editor's a game, then that would mean RTW isn't either.

That's true. RTW is not a game. Only RTW player is game. Same with Wa editor.

Once again, I point you to the fact that RTW's "player" is the main element that the game was marketed with, whereas for the WA Editor it was the Editor itself.

That's OK. :D I guess you all know my opinion about it, and also why I have that opinion. But if there are questions about, I'll be happy to explain. Just in case anyone of you is interested in Cleverbot's opinion:
User: To be or not to be.

Cleverbot: That is the question.

User: Another question: Is 'Wonderland Adventures editor' a game?

Cleverbot: The Game is the game. Think about it.

If you're including the player, yes.
The editor by itself is most definitely not a game.
I'm not convincing you to think that, but that's what it seems like to me. :V
RTW is a game because it has an editor AND a player in one. The RTW editor is included with RTW, so it's also considered a game since it's in RTW.

Kooky, that's obvious isn't it? If you make a topic and the first one is locked because someone disturbed it, the second one is locked for no reason, then you have no other choices then:

A. Accept that there is no justice in Wonderland, or
B. Make a third topic about it.

BTW, I asked you some questions in my first post in the second topic. This topic: http://www.pcpuzzle.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21744 Of course you are free to ignore them, but if you would like to do me a favor...

XPR / Grae, I respect your opinion about the difference: player - editor, but may I ask you to give your opinion about my second post in the other topic? :)

Just to clarify (as I did a poor job of explaining it between posts before) - the reasons I don't find the Editor as a game are rather simple.

First off; The main "marketing" strategy of it (to convince people to download) is because it lets us make our own Adventures to play. That is to say, creating levels.

The main marketing strategy of RTW is that it's an involving puzzle game. That is to say, solving puzzles. It only has the Editor thrown in as a side-feature, not the main thing.

Second off (and this is far more important); The WA Editor only comes with two (three? not sure) completely separate adventures. They aren't related, and they don't fit together to create a "feature-length" game.

RTW comes with a large number of story-connected levels. They fit together to create a story and last for a longer time than the WA Editor examples. They form a "feature-length" game.

Hence why some people don't count the Editor on a list of Wonderland games. Simply put, there's few levels to begin with and they don't fit together to form a story at all. Sure, you can download Adventures that will form a story, but they aren't included by default, unlike with RTW.

I think you're talking about 2 different things:

1. Should WA editor be on a list of Wonderland games?
2. Is WA editor a game?

And now replace the word "WA editor" with the word "chess" for example. :)

I think it's obvious that the answer to question 2 is: yes, no matter if it's about chess or the WA editor, and that the answer to question 1 is: no, if it's about chess. However if it's about WA editor, then it depends on other factors:

If it's about Patrick having peanutbutter on his bread, or sitting on the back seat of a Rolls Royce with a private driver, then I agree that the answer is definitely: no! Also if it's important to you if there are many levels involved, perhaps with a storyline, it's no.

However, if it's about, which one do you like the most, and about people who like nothing better then creating their own levels, then the answer will be: yes!

So, I have to agree with everyone who say that WA editor is not a game. The answer is right, but it's the answer to the wrong question.

My opinion is that the WA editor was an early attempt to make a program for creating user-made adventures and for playing them.
However, Patrick decided to pause it and focus on WA: POTZ first.
Don't forget that the editor is still a beta version with a some glitches and a few missing features such as hubs.
Although the hacked version allow to use these features too, it is inofficial, so I don't consider it a real Wonderland game.
That's why I vote for 'no'.

Of course the WA Player's a game. Don't confuse issues - we're talking about the Editor app, not the Player. If you're including the player, of course people will say yes - that's manipulating them into agreeing with you.

My opinion:
The Player app's a game in the sense that it has gameplay.
The Editor app's not a game because... self-explanatory, although it is fun.
The Editor in total (Player and Editor included) is subject to interpretation as to if it's a game or not. My own opinion is that it's not, because it doesn't have included content outside of example levels.
