Is chess a game?

I would like to know what's the definition of a game?

In the other topic I asked some questions, http://www.pcpuzzle.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21744 but the topic was locked before anyone had answered them.

Also I would like to know why the topic was locked. I think there was nothing wrong with it. (well except 2 useless extra poll options with lots of !!!!!!!! perhaps)

Chess is a game. You play it, it's fun, there's rules, therefore it is a game.

You can usually tell if something's a game if there's rules.
Even in tag, there's rules. Like you have to be it if you're tagged by the it.

How can anyone play two games simultaneous against the world-champion chess, and play equal? (Win one and lose one, or get 2 draws.)

My previous post is actually a riddle, and has nothing to do with the reason that I made this topic, except that the topictitle says: Chess. But well, I'd rather talk in one topic about 2 different things, instead of making 2 topics about the same thing.

Here is the answer:

Wait for the champion to do his first white move.

Immediately do exactly the same white move on the other board.

Then wait until he moves with black, and do the same black move on the first board, etc.

So you let the champion play against himself, actually a bit the same way as Nobody let Cleverbot talk to itself.

It doesn't work. What if white takes a piece which was the same piece that took it but it was white? For example: After both players have moved the pawn in front of the king, and then the white queen moves northeast as much as it can, and then black does the same move, the white queen will take the black queen. And then, the black queen can't take the white queen because it has been taken.

BB, I think you didn't get the point. I'm talking about 2 games, on 2 boards. Those are exactly the same games, except that on one board you're playing with white, and on the other one with black. So, if the game results in a draw, you have 2 draws, and if either white or black wins, you win one game and lose the other one.

OK. But it is bound to end out differently when the champion realizes what you are doing.

He may find it not fair. But is it against the rules?

I think the only thing he can do about it, is waiting until the last half second with the last move, so your time is up.
