I saw a suggestion for a level editor in Technos's Kiyoshi Revamped topic, and that got me thinking. What if I made a level editor in which level codes which could be shared?

Using the codes, I could have the best of the levels be implemented in a game that's like Evil Toaster 3, but with community levels. Each level will be credited to which member made it.

Is this a good idea?

something like that. the length tells the parser how long the field is.

I've made a level editor for Boxinator before, but I want a proper saving/loading system without making the files too huge.

I know what I'm going to do, but it's HOW to do it, as in reading/writing bytes.

I can figure it out. I have a level editor example, but it's quite complicated...

OK, I've finally finished the basic interface. Now, if I find a good save system, and this is a REALLY BIG if, I might be able to release the editor tomorrow.

Also, I'm not sure if I want to make any more games. I'm really getting tired of this and I'm not sure if I want to start any new games... I think I might shove off Lost Data for a couple of years.

I think he means multiple games per level, e.g. Super Kiyoshi and Boxinator at the same time.

That would be impossible, because they're all the same wall object, except with a changed sprite. I can't change individual walls, so...

You could with the creation code( sprite_index=sprite name here ) but you would have to do it one by one...

Or you could have another wall object with a difrent sprite with the main wall as a parent...

Exactly why I don't want to do it.

I'm not familiar with all the "parent" stuff either.

@Emerald141: Well, making these games are just a waste of my time when I could be doing something more fun like playing Minecraft... I'm not getting paid. I'll play people's custom Evil Toaster levels, though.

Hmm, I think I found a level save/load system I could use. I have to go to bed now, but I'll try to finish it tomorrow morning before I go to school.
