Hello everybody, I'm back. No KFC today, I'm sick of it. :P

The thing about singing Jerusalem came from a Monty Python sketch yonks ago. It was about a bed salesman who put a bucket on his head every time someone said 'bed'. He wouldn't come out until everyone sang Jerusalem.

No idea why I mentioned it. :?

It's that old woman thing again. Rambling on about things that nothing to do with anything.  :P

I enjoy rambling too, when I get a chance - but it involves wearing wellies
and carrying a walking stick, and staying on the paths and closing all the gates.

You don't do it in the US. It's called hiking, and sounds as though it's much harder work ! ! ! !

. . . . . and now I'm rambling (alternate meaning) so I guess it must be this old-age thing. Fun, ain't it? ? ? ?

Chicago, huh?

Can I come live with you. Not much luggage - just my computer (surprise, surprise), my cat and my wellies.

Hiking, rambling or just plain tramping through field, marsh, swamp and desert
isn't too much fun in south TX.

Maybe Maureen IS a rambler, and she's out rambling around, rambling onanonanonanonanon. That's very good, DG.

"Rambler's Anonymous" sounds OK, at first glance.

But what would we be planning to do? A social gathering once a week, or so, to generally discuss, in full detail, any likely
(or unlikely) subject that one member or another should happen to think of at that certain time in question?

Surely no-one is really interested in giving up, as in curbing, squelching, quitting, eschewing, refraining from and generally no longer practicing the wonderful art of speaking/writing in slightly long-winded, round-about and never-ending sentences verging on full-blown paragraphs, and frequently on a subject that has no bearing (Thank you OB for the use of your personal vocabulary)
what-so-ever to the originally intended matter put up for discussion.

I vote for Number 1, behind the first door - definitely not for number 2.
Don't like the color of the paint on door number 2. I don't think it's purple.

Can I join, please ? ? ? ? ?

I would like to join too please :D I can ramble on senselessly with the best of them. We'll have to have some kind of meeting house......what ever happened to the big house we were all going to move into???? We could have a special room there for rambling. I don't think a tv should be in that room. It would be nice if the floors were hardwood-----then the ones that get cold could put down throw rugs, and those times we get too warm we can walk around in our barefeet and the floor would be nice and cool 8) and by the way, I love purple. Do I qualify??

Eeyore
Yes, I'm a donkey......
and I'm purple.....
and I am Polly, Minnie's little sister.

Yes - that's right. I remember now. A sea view with hills behind (for rambling, of course)

and everybody was bringing their computer and recliners. Someone said tables would be provided.

Walking on the hardwood floor with bare feet sounds nice, but I think some (only a very few)
of us may consider our bones a bit on the "mature" side to appreciate sleeping on the floor.
It might sound better if you called the floor something else. It's the H-word that's a bit off-putting.
What about beautifully polished balsa wood floors.

And who's bringing the food? All talk and no food makes Wonderlanders too skinny (to sleep on any floor, even carperted ones).

Balsa Wood sounds fine :D

No worries about the food......I can cook very well (all old fashioned dishes) ham pot pie, lasagne, spagetti, mac and cheese, hamberger pie, etc........plus I'm an expert chocolate chip cookie maker. . . . . as long as I get some help with the dishes

I'm so glad you'll be doing the cooking. I remember your Sugar Pie. Made it and it was very good
and macaroni cheese is my all time favourite.

I'll wash dishes any day for such good company AND good food.

I'll have to bring cushions too, Sharon. All that rambling will really ache up the bones, and the feet, and the appetite.

It's gonna be fun, eatin' and a-talkin' ! ! ! ! ! ! !
