Agreed. That looks really awesome!StinkerSquad01 wrote:I think that looks really good!popo wrote:Ok, here's my offering of the Wonderland planet. It's taken a while to get it looking how I wanted it. I've added Fire Island because none of the rest of it looked volcanic.

I find it much fun to make these planet textures!
I made three more: swamp planet (recolouring of popo's planet with some tweaks and clouds added) and my propositions of already-mentioned planets: Java and Barren.
Note that I found a nice cloud texture and use the same one on all the planets - it just looks good IMO
Barren in this post, the forum doesn't allow me to put more images, so next ones in next posts.

I have a few more, too. I do enjoy making these. This could be a planet that is far away (Uo?) and doesn't get much heat from the sun.

I think this one could also be Uo. It has kind of a magical look to it, with the purple planet and colorful clouds.

I decided to add a couple of other things to the map (and made it bigger)

I find I am having better luck making "cartoon" like planets, etc.
Here's an example. I have more......many more.

Still a bit of time on this... I'm still working on final adventures right now, so there's still some time to get these in before I make a final selection of planets.
There's definitely some winners in here! The semi-realistic/cartoony seem to work the best, such as the ice, dessert, water, gas giant, swamp planets so far - the ones that are too abstract are fun just to see and play with, but don't really fit into the game that well. Also no clear standout for Wonderland yet (I think so far popo's comes closest).
For one extra push of motivation, in about 2 weeks time I'll announce some of the selections... everyone selected of course gets their name in the credits and one planet of the selections will be picked at random for a free copy of WA3.
