New Level - Ascent II: The Sewers

Post by cloudrac3r » Tue Mar 14, 2017 7:44 pm

Loof has escaped the dangers of the underground and made it into the less dangerous sewers. Help him reach the exit!

This level uses the "brick" texture which can be found in the Wonderland Nutters archives. Download the archive. If you're lazy, you could just not download it and use the default wood theme, but the level is much more pleasing to the eyes with the texture. Please use it.

You shouldn't have too much trouble with this one.

I made it with 42 seconds to spare.

Thanks for the fun!

I had 6 seconds to spare, no time to improve it now, maybe later.

51 seconds? I guess you used a difference route than the one in the video solution to get that, right? Or maybe found some cheese?

Actually, with further micro optimisations I made it with 58 seconds left, but its all the same way, except that perfect timing replaces hesitation.

I did find an alternate route by hijacking a transporter, but the times are worse, not better.

For the fun, try mounting the transporters exactly when the clock changes to 1:32, ride quickly down, down, right and down!

I suspected that might happen. I decided not to try exploiting every transporter in the level, since I didn't think that it would help too much, and solving the level the intended way is fairly easy.

I got a few fairly entertaining things to happen: Loof dies leaving behind a floating boulder, and Loof reaches the Kaboom island below, among others. Thanks for that! You could use that as a particularly evil mechanic in one of your own levels.

35 seconds left.

Individually, all the parts in this level aren't too much trouble. It's when they're together that they become a bit hair-raising, especially with the time limit. The bottom left section is a bit tricky and the out-of-view kaboomers are trickier still. I think the first level was easier.
Rest in peace, Kym. I hardly knew ya.
Rest in peace, Marinus. A bright star, you were ahead of me on my own tracks of thought. I miss you.
