The Kiss

Post by Cat » Wed Jun 22, 2005 5:18 pm

This is so beautiful!!!

The Kiss...

He had just saved her from a fire in her house, rescuing her by carrying her out of the house into her front yard, while he continued to fight the fire.

The firefighter was afraid of her at first, because he had never been around a Doberman before.

When he finally got done putting the fire out, he sat down to catch his breath and rest.

A photographer from the Charlotte, North Carolina newspaper, "The Observer," noticed this Doberman in the distance looking at the fireman.

He saw her walking straight toward the fireman and wondered what she was going to do.

As he raised his camera, she came up to the tired man who had saved her life and the lives of her babies, and kissed him, just as the photographer snapped this photograph.

The photograph shows a red Doberman licking an exhausted fireman.

And people say animals are dumb - yeah right.

I love that picture!

Although, I'm obsessed with dogs. I talk about my three dogs like some people talk about their children. I carry pictures and everything!

Not at all. My dogs are my children. They, too, have presents to unwrap at Christmas, wear Halloween costumes, have birthday presents, and even sleep more comfortably every night than I do. (All 3 sleep on the bed with my 6'2" 220 lb husband and me. And the dogs collectively weigh almost 200 lbs themselves.)

Dogs are sometimes better than children. Mine always do their chores when they're asked to, are always happy to see me, never talk back, don't leave handprints on the mirrors, and never leave their underwear on the bathroom floor!

They are the best. I think our son has dog envy.

Okay, you're right. They do leave noseprints on the windows. They like to stare out the front window and bark at anyone who may walk by. I was thinking more about bathroom mirrors though.

Okay, well, I KNOW I'm right about the underwear thing!

Dogs sleeping in bed? O.K.
Dogs dressing for Halloween? O.K.

But doing all this and wearing no underwear? Is this allowed in puritanical U.S.A. :?:

Love the Story Cat. Thanks for sharing it. :D Of course animals know. Just because they don't vocalize like we do doesn't mean they can't communicate and they don't feel. You just have to pay attention. :)
Very funny Andrea and Lutz.

Nice story Cat, animals are so sensitive to human needs. This has been my experience over the years with our pets.

Thanks for sharing it with us. :D

Andrea, I hope it's 'Y Fronts' because they are very handy for the tail when turned back to front.  8)
