Here I am, back again ! ! ! !

Post by ann3120 » Sat Jun 11, 2005 4:29 pm

Many, many thanks to you all for your thoughts and good wishes - and a very special
B I G T H A N K S
to Lillian and all her buddies for the wonderful European level. I haven't played it, or Majic's American level, yet, but had a quick peek at them when we got home last night.

But really, the Get Well wishes were wonderful, but I haven't been sick (yet) ! ! ! ! ! ! Had lens implant surgery on one eye, and have to go back on the 22nd to do the same thing again on the other one. It's really strange having one almost good eye, and one that is totally bad. I can see resonably well at a distance, not much at all in the middle range, and the easiest way to read is about three inches from my nose - that's the bad eye. Haven't tried playing "my" European level yet - not quite sure "where" to do it ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Can't you just see me writing this? I have to keep moving, three inches from keyboard and then three inches from the screen

Those of you that wear glasses or contacts will know what I mean when I tell you that the most amazing thing is waking up during the night and being able to see things outside the window - something I've never, ever been able to do all my life. Last night I really saw the trees in the moonlight. Talk about miracles. I've certainly got mine, and still another to come.

By the time this is all over, it will probably be 6-8 weeks before both eyes adjust to the changes, and I can get a good prescription for new glasses that won't be about three inches thick. That'll be nice and then I'll be back on the forum full time. I am going to play some, but it will be slow - and I'll never be able to catch up
Can't you creative people slow down a bit too? How about playing each other's levels for a while. I can assure you, it's fun
:!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:

Again, many, many thanks

I'm glad to see that you are back and glad to hear that things went well for you. Those I know who have had lens implants say that they can see better than they have ever seen. They have been thrilled with the results. You have my continued thoughts for the same! :D

Oh Ann I'm so glad, that it all went so well.

You brought tears to my eyes when you talk seeing the trees.
I know how you feel. my mother and Aunt are both blind.
That is what they miss the most not seeing the trees and flower.
My friend, I am so Happy for you.Good Luck on the next eye.

You will look at the rose's and smell the sweet love they give.

Hi Ann,

Welcome back :D :D :D I'm so happy for you

I find your good news especially reassuring, since I'm going to have both my eyes operated (LASIK, not lens implants) on the 4th of July  .

I know excactly what you mean when you talk about waking up in the night and being able to see. I'm sooooo looking forward to that. :D :D :D

I actually tried some contact lenses a while back that were supposed to stay in the eyes for a whole month (both night and day). Unfortunately my eyes had a bad reaction with them :( , but I had allmost two months with perfect vision :D . I know what I'm missing (along with everyone else with very poor eyesight), but hopefully this will be over soon  .

I hope everything will go well with your second eye as well, so you can enjoy all the moonlight trees you desire :D :D :D

Sorry Ann - don't know how I missed this post!

I'm so glad everything went well with your eye op!!!! It will be brilliant for you not to have to wear your Gregory Pecks all the time once your eyes are fully recovered

We were all thinking of you and are glad you are back.

Have fun catching up and enjoy the moonlight views :P

Take care x

Now you can go back and look at all the Picture Me! photos again and see how ugly all the people here really are, (not me, of course  ).

Bear 8)
Of course not you Bear, you would have made it even uglier. :D :)

Welcome back Ann. Glad to hear your op went well. Must be strange having one good eye and one bad eye, but at least you can see out the window now, just think what it will be like when they're both good.

Take no notice of Bear, he's just jealous cos we're all so stunningly beautiful. :P

Welcome back Ann, sorry but I'm going to give you a red face.

Do all of you Wonderlanders realise just what a lovely person Ann is?
I am telling you now..........

This beautiful woman left her home last Monday to travel to Houston for her op, before making the journey she sent me a lovely card wishing ME well with my hospital procedure. On her return the first thing Ann did was to write a PM asking how it went and if I had my results. :D

I thank you from the bottom of my heart Ann and wish you well for the second op. Friends like you are worth more than anything in this world.

Please forgive me if this has embarassed you but I wanted everyone to know how special our Mrs. P. Hat is.

Yes, Ann you are a very special person, so supportive of all of us, and so funny with all your posts.

I'm very happy your surgery has gone well and that you can see a few things at least. It will be wonderful when you have two good eyes.

Hi Ann, I just wanted to add my best wishes to the others - You will be in our thoughts come the second op - just like you were with the first. Take care of yourself - does it help if the writing is bigger? I know it does with my eyes.

Hello Everybody - here I am again

and guess what - I CAN SEE

Surgery all went very well, and the results are wonderful. I can really SEE for the first time in 64 years. Now I just have to get new glasses for the up close stuff. Even the Dr was surprised with the results. They seem to have turned out much better that he ever expected, maybe as good as 20/30 in both eyes. Eye surgeons are true miracle workers. You go into surgery with everything a blur, they don't even put you to sleep and about 15 minutes later you have clear vision, and it doesn't even hurt. What could be better.

Sorry it took so long to get back online but we had server problems when we got home Thursday, and only got up and running again last night.

I'm sure you've all been very creative in my abscence, and I might as well give up my attempt to catch up. I'll just play along at my own slow pace, admiring the view as I go ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
