I am sorry it has taken so long

Post by soluvable » Thu Jun 30, 2005 3:09 am

Hi everyone,

I am sorry it took me so long to introduce myself. To be completely
honest and to Embarrass myself further. I never really took a good look at this topic and always thought it said instruction not INTRODUCTION!!

There now that you all know I have a reading problem. I will start with INTRODUCING myself... My name is Kerrie A.K.A (soluvable) from Ontario Canada. I am a fairly new mom, my son Ali just turned 9 months today. As most of you I have totally become addicted to wonderland. At first it was somthing to pass the time while the baby took his nap. To while I am sure you know.. You just can't get enough of this game..

I am very glad to be apart of this forum. It is just a relief and pleasure to have such nice and helpful people to talk to.

Well, welcome again soluvable!

Now I'm feeling guilty because I really didn't introduce myself all that well when I first started so here's a more in depth look at moi:

Obviously, my name is Andrea. I'm a 29 year old Biology teacher from Phoenix, AZ. I've been happily married for 7 years to my husband, Johnny, who is not a fan of Wonderland, but I love him anyhow. I have a 10 year old (well, 11 in a couple of weeks) stepson, Daniel who is my pride and joy and is possibly the best kid ever! I also have 3 dogs who are spoiled beyond belief.

We are in the process of building a new house and selling our current home, which we actually listed today! So, I may have to tear myself away from Wonderland forums in a month or so while we move and attempt to get the internet set up out at our new house. (I don't know if DSL will even be available in my area at the time we move in...if I have to use dial-up again I may literally go insane.)

I look forward to getting to know you all better and someday actually being able to create my own levels!

It's okay Kerrie, until yesterday I thought your name was "solvable" instead of "so luvable". And I'm a teacher!

Duh ! ! ! ! ! I just thought "what a funny name to chose, I wonder why?"
I never saw it the correct way either. Oh well.

. . . . and W E L C O M E to you too, Andrea.

Welcome soluvable and Andrea. :) I think I already welcomed you, but wanted to say it again. It's nice to know a little about you personally, though you've both already shown that you're friendly and fun loving with a weakness for puzzles (Wonderland especially, as we all seem to have). :D  :D I look forward to reading more posts from you both. :D

Hi Ann, Andrea, Sharon.

  Not to worry you are not the first to miss understand my handle (name) all my family from England had came over last summer and they said now Kerrie we have to ask what in the world does soluable mean.

so-luv-able- my mom and friends picked it for me. they said it's the best way to describe me. :D

Andrea question,, my family and I are planning on doing a trip every year for x-mas and Phoenix was one that we had decided we would like to go to.. My parents have been there before but it was summer time. Would x-mas time be a good time weather wise??

Talk to you all soon

The weather in Phoenix during Christmas time is usually great. We usually wear sweatshirts at that time, but I've seen out-of-towners who are used to colder weather wear shorts when they come here in December.

I think it usually averages around 60 F during the day at that time of the year, which is about 15.6 C.

Post by bat » Wed Jul 06, 2005 1:56 am

I have been playing Wonderland for years and wasn't aware there was a
discussion board. Observant, aren't I.

I don't know if this is the forum for my problem, but with 15 + listed I
simply don't have time to look. I apologize if I 've faux paux-ed.

My problem is that often when I try to switch between characters, Stinky
and what's-his-name (bad memory) using the enter key it will not stay:
meaning it flips back and forth between them but won't stay on the one I
want.

Anyone else experience this problem? Is there another key I could use?

Thanks everyone!

Bat

I've had the same problen on occasion between Stinky and Loof (and maybe Qookie and Peegue sometimes as well) and I've always thought that it's just because I didn't put enough pressure on the enter key. If I do it more slowly, it seems to work.

Nice to meet you after all this time.

W E L C O M E to Wonderland.

Now you've found us, I hope you stay a long time and join in all the fun.

Hi there Bat!

That happens to me on occasion, but it's usually when I'm pushing it too fast.

I hope you stay around here. It's really helpful and the people here are great.

Hi Bat. Welcome to the forum. :D Don't feel bad about not noticing it, I didn't at first either.
I've never had that specific problem, mainly mine has been one of hitting the enter key too many times when I'm trying to switch quickly. :)
You might try posting this problem as a new post in the General Discussion forum. More people would see it and may be able to help you with it. This thread is generally used for introducing yourself, so not as many members see it. Just a suggestion. :)

Guess what? I tried what some of you suggested about not railing on the
enter key and trying a softer touch and I did have better luck changing
characters. Now if I could keep myself in that Zen mode when being
chased by the evil teeth. (Thank goodness I haven't started dreaming
about the damn things, shiver)

Thanks everyone for your warm welcomes!

Hello to All

Post by Fracas777 » Sat Jul 09, 2005 3:11 pm

I have no idea if I am doing this right but I would like to introduce myself and say hello to everyone.

I discovered the Wonderland Games a couple of months ago and, now that I have exhausted the Wonderland, RTW, and Secret Worlds (at least the levels that I could complete) -- I have been busy downloading all of your wonderful levels!

Just wanted to thank everyone for making more levels to this great game!

To Liz (and eveyone):

Well, I've been browsing the posts -- busy downloading all the levels. Yes, I know Mette has a website where I can download everything at once but it just wouldn't be as much fun as reading through a lot of the posts. (Forgive me for this bit of voyeurism.) You people are all an insane bunch -- and I mean that in the nicest way!

I'm not sure exactly how I stumbled onto Wonderland in the first place. I sort of remember being a bit bored at work one day. I had played a lot of Chip's Challenge (anyone remember that game?) and had downloaded a lot of the Yahoo Groups CC levels to play at work -- finally exhausted those. I think I must have done some kind of web search and stumbled across Wonderland -- downloaded the demo -- and was hooked! So, yes, I have downloaded Wonderland, RTW (Deluxe) and Secret Worlds.

Now, the crazy part is -- I played all the above Wonderland games at work (during lunch, of course - insert smiley with big wink here) -- with the sound turned off! Have recently begun playing them at home (I have gotten addicted) -- with the sound on, of course. Oh, what a difference! I think I may have to go back and replay all the levels -- I never realized how funny it is with sound enabled!

On a personal note, I live in the Boston, MA area -- live with 4 cats and a boyfriend. My personal hobbies are reading (particularly mysteries), playing Chip's Challenge and Tomb Raider (another major addiction) and now Wonderland (of course).

I haven't tried out the level editor yet -- I don't know if my talents lie in making levels, but I might give it a shot one of these days -- it is kind of cool to create your own levels. And, I was very impressed with the fact that RTW came packaged with levels created by members on this board -- how cool that must have been for everyone concerned!

Oh, and while my username is Fracas777 (which is after my favorite perfume and pronounced in the "French" way), my boyfriend says fracas is particularly "fitting" for what I cause in his life -- hence the username. But, I will try not to cause a "fracas" here on the board (well, anymore than anyone else, I guess).
