I need some techy help please!!!! My PC is playing up! When I turn on my machine I get this message (see piccy below). What on earth is a "matcli.exe" error?
I can't run: my AVG Anti-virus. I have tried to re-install it but I get an error message. I also can't run Incredimail, my Blueyonder Support Tool or any of the Wonderland games. The loader just stays on my screen and does nothing. Other games all work fine. I have recently been getting a few error memory violation messages during playing Wonderland.
Please help me someone - Bear or Patrick maybe. My hubby is in hospital so he can't do it. I am stressed

I'm sorry Lillian, I can't really help you- But I have a suggestion that might help- Do you have system restore?
I have a compaq and I used to have an hp both with winxp, and they had a system restore on it- It is found, in mine, start menu, all programs, accessories, system tools, then system restore-
It will do no harm but will undo any harm- Just set it back to the last time you remember the computer working fine.
I hope this helps

Thanks for the quick reply Dylan. I have Windows 2000 - can't see system restore anywhere
I have tried uninstalling RTWD and re-installing it and I think it is a problem with the loader? I can't even open Incredimail which has mysteriously disappeared from my task bar - just nothing happens. I'm getting worried about my AVG Anti-Virus application though

Although my firewall is up and running no problem.
Thanks anyway - maybe someone else with Windows 2000 can throw some light on the system restore please.

How about a back up disk, where you would find a system recovery- My computer comes with one of those installed on it already but I used to have one that had disk that you used?

I just found this but I don't understand it
Also does anyone know if I uninstall Incredimail and reinstall it again - will I have lost all my emails?

My route for system restore is
Control Panel
Performance and Maintenance
System Restore
Click Restore and it invites you to select a date ...

Thanks Pamster - I'd best leave the Incredimail alone then

I do have Microsoft Outlook working for emails so that is OK. But I have been using Incredimail for a while now and all my new emailers are on there so I do not have many addresses in my old Outlook. I also have a lot of important stuff that I wouldn't want to lose - like bank details, passwords, etc. I'll leave that bit for Stan.
DOS scares the wickers off me - I'm not even gonna go there
Thanks everyone for your help

If you ever have to uninstall and reinstall incredimail, just open it, go to file, go to data and settings transfer, and transfer to new computer- Save it to your hard drive or a back up disk- It will save all your messages and contacts- Then do whatever your doing with incredimail- When your ready just do the above except now transfer from old computer and everything is right as rain- And you never have to use a pencil again- You might want to consider doing that periodically just in case of a crash!
Sorry I couldn't help out with the other problem but thanks to Bear you'll be square again
Trust me- I do it often!

Hi Lillian, Here is a link that will take you to an Incredimail Data Backup Manager Program: (
http://www.lettersbybob.com/IMdataSaving.html)It is free and I use it, especially after I sorted through all of my stationary and put them in folders. This came through on one of the Incredimail stationary groups I belong to. If the link doesn't work, let me know and I'll email you the letter I got. Hope you get it all worked out. I HATE having computer problems!!

There is something very wierd going on here. I have been out most of the day - tonight when I got back - I logged on the forum and it said I had 2 messages and there were lots of posts to read. When I went to my inbox - there were no messages there and the forum was just as I left it this morning - showing the last post made at 12.50.
When I went my profile - it showed Mette's profile!!!!!!
See screenshot! - REMOVED!
What on earth???????

What's weird about it? You've accidentally logged in as Mette, you twonk.
She was living with you for a while and the pic shows you clearly logged in as Mette, not yourself. You obviously still have her details on your comp.
Assuming you login using IE, just remove her from the Login list.
Edit: Forgot to add. You are advertising her e-mail address for all the forum to see.

I know this is Lillian's thread, but to save me looking for the right one I wanted to thank you Bear for giving me the link about CD rewriters. From that link I was able to find out that my drive only writes to CD-RW's at up to 10x speed, and I had bought 12x speeds disks. I've now bought some 4-12x speed ones and they work perfectly.
Thanks again Bear.

My pleasure, Pauline; glad I could help.
Maybe it's time Patrick set up a section for tech support. I seem to be helping out more and more people thesedays with these sort of queries. Just a thought.

Good idea, a technical support thread would be helpful.
But I think it would still be you answering all the posts.
