Good bye Wonderland!

Post by Loirae » Sat Oct 08, 2005 10:50 pm

Well, not forever.

This morning while the Geek Squard was setting up our home wireless network, my 18 month daughter got loose and went to see the Big Geek. She did a little dance and then turned and sat down on my laptop. Plopped, more like it. And the monitor no longer works. It will be 4-6 weeks before it comes back fixed.

My husband's laptop works fine, but is very very old and will not run wonderland. So, I can look at the boards. I can watch level after level go by. And when I finally get my computer back, I'll spend 3 weeks downloading all the levels I missed.

Meanwhile, wonderland withdrawl is already kicking in. Depression strikes. I don't know how I'll go on!

Good bye, my wonderfamily. I shall miss you all!!!!!

Sorry to hear that, Loirae. Personally, I would sell the kid and buy hubby a new laptop, but that's just me. (Only kidding)

Mette already does this, Will, and she updates the lists every month.

btw. This thread belongs in 'off-topic' as it isn't actually about the official Wonderland games. :? :?

I wouldn't worry about it. Anyway, it's not up to me to say where anyone posts, so just forget I mentioned it.

As for the new laptop for the hubby, I say we start a collection for him; I'll even chip in a couple of bucks myself. Just print off the cheque below; fill in your name and the amount you want; cash it at your local bank branch and then nip down to Best Buy and get what you need.

Loirae,
I'm so sorry for your loss. This addict can sympathize. Can't go a day without a wonderland fix.

I might have a stop-gap solution for you. Your local computer repair shop might have a "loaner" you could rent.

Unlike me, you probably have a copy of the program and/or a back-up of all the files. If you have the back-up, you might be able to restore to a "loaner" and then download new levels until yours is fixed. Then backup the "loaner" and restore to your own laptop.

Good Luck.

Hi Loirae,

What sad news

I hope you get something arranged soon. The effects of Wonderland withdraval can be very serious indeed  . Soon you'll find yourself doing a lot of extra H-work

Mette

P.S. I'm moving this to off-topic

Sorry kido. You live so close to me. I wish I could help you out. but my old computer is on it's last legs too. Goodwill shops sell computers that people didn't want any more. maybe you can get one there. Just for the time being.

THanks. No, it's not AJ. Its my daughter but it's from a year ago. She's so much cuter now. But I loved those impish looks she had back then.
