Return to Wonderland, Deluxe Level 8, Rainbow World

Need some major help. When I get Stinky to the room with the keg barrels, I do alright until I get down to the round yellow button. I know that I should put a barrel on the button. How do I prevent the fireball from destroying it since I have to head back up that way and the ufo fires down at me? Any suggestions?

Ok. I got that part of it figured out. Thanks for the hint! Now I am trying to figure out how to work the boxes to get at the blue button. Any clues!?
