Question for you computer wizzards out there

Post by Superterv » Sun Dec 18, 2005 12:56 pm

Can anyone please tell me how I can get rid of the Microsoft Update reminder (have downloaded the updates already) that keeps popping up and telling me I must restart my computer NOW. I don't want to, and I don't need pop-up appearing every few minutes. HELP :? :?

Hehe, it will keep coming back until you reboot it, but you can drag the box out of view of the screen at the bottom of the task bar. This is very crude.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

THANK YOU - you have saved my sanity (for nowImage). So you really can't get rid of it and stop it happening for future reference?

You can't. Sorry Sorinda. I agree that it does get irritating after a while.
If you want to be somebody, if you want to go somewhere, you have to wake up and pay attention.

If you want to get rid of it completely, just turn off automatic updates.
Right click my computer, scroll to properties, and click it on it. Then click on the tab that say automatiec updates and change how they are downloaded. You can turn it off or choose to be notified before downloading, what ever you want. Then the box won't pop up at all!
