Recording Solutions For Playback

Post by Amadeus! » Thu Feb 16, 2006 5:13 am

I have discovered a very small, simple-to-use utility that will record keystrokes and play them back. It is ideal for watching a solution of a custom level that you downloaded.
Just wish that I could find one that is both free and works with Wonderland.
So far, "Action Recorder" is the only one that I've seen that actually works with this game and is the least expensive: $ 9.95.

If you would like to try the free demo, you can download it here:
http://pages.infinit.net/xsoft100/downl ... upDemo.exe

There is no time limit or expiration on the demo.

If anyone knows of a free comprarable program, please post it here.

Thanks,
Mark

interesting. but I'm not sure I understand how it's applied to solution lending here. Do you send someone who has the program a files so they can run wonderland and the software and watch the level being solved? Or is it to record what you're doing while playing so you can zip through the first part when the end is hard and you've done the beginning a gazillion times?

I understand what the basic program does: recording keystrokes and playing them back. Can you be kind enough to explain the use in terms of what that means for wonderland??

Appreciate it.

The person who creates the Custom level and the one who plays the level
will both need to have this progam installed on their computers.
On the level thread, the author will need to post an attached file with the playback information.
It's a very tiny file.

The one thing that Wonderlanders need, is a way to record and playback the solutions to their levels. Some games, such as "Professor Fizzwizzle" already have a record/playback feature built into the editor/game.

The smartest and simplest way around this is to use a software utiltiy program that records and plays back every key pressed on the keyboard. Unfortunatley I could not find a free one that was easy to use or that worked with Wonderland.

It is very difficult and cryptic writing lengthly spoilers.
This utility is very simple to use, and is fun to watch the game play all by itself with the intended solution, as if the creator's ghost was sitting right at your own computer showing you how.

The idea of this sounds very good, but I'm not sure I'd want a keystroke recorder on my machine in case something nasty could get it to record my user ID's and passwords for my online banks.

How can you ensure that it's safe?

Hi Popo,

It's perfectly safe.
It only records and plays back when you tell it to.
Think of it as Video Tape Recorder, except that it
mimics your percise keyboard and mouse movements.

I just found a free one that works!!! :D
I've attached it here since it is so small.

I've created a Solutin for my "Leap of Logic"
level.

Download and extract the two files to your Windows Desktop.
Install the utility and start Wonderland in Window Mode.
Select and start my "Leap of Logic" level.
Now double-click the "Solution.exe" on your Windows Desktop.

Let me know if you encounter any problems.
If you don't already have my "Leap of Logic" level,
you can download it from here:

Hi Mark,

I think the idea is excellent, but I can't get it to work properly
I installed the program but when I run your solution, Peegue moves around and pushes boxes OK, but he keeps dying :?

Just found another way to record and playback solutions:

There is a free version of AutoScreen Recorder that you
can use to video capture your solution in Windowed Mode.
You can find this program here:
http://www.wisdom-soft.com/products/aut ... r_free.htm

Then you can upload that Video for free broadcasting here:

Thanks goes to VirtLands for sharing this wonderful site! :D
