Hubbys out of town & my sister just called and invited Emily to have a sleepover at her house tonight

I only have 1 problem...... What am I going to do with myself for an entire night

Aww Rose I wish you lived closer too, I'm sure I'd enjoy your company

I'm going out with a friend, be assurred there will be a nice meal involved

then we'll decide if it's a movie or shopping

it won't matter, because there will be absolutely NO TV and NO kids

And, Lillie your right, these occasions are very rare indeed.

Amy, according to Mapquest, Springfield is only 356 miles ( a little over 5 hours) from Wichita, When I drive back to Denver I take I-70, (the fastest route possible

) next time I may have to make a "detour"

.

BTW, My night off, was canceled,

my niece fell & sprained her wrist,

(we thought it was broken) my sister spent her evening in the Emergency Room with Katie & : I spent the evening out with Emily

I figured I was already all dressed up, I may as well find somewhere to go.

Katie, is fine, she has a "brace" wrapped around her wrist to keep it stable for a few days. To tell the truth I think she's enjoying the attention more than it hurts.

I have family living in Utah, near Salt Lake City and friends in New York. Is that in the neighbourhood?

Well, Rose neither one of those places would be very close, Salt Lake City,
UT. is about 1000 miles (1609 km) and New York (I used New York City as a reference point ) is about 1200 miles or (1931 km) .
But, Salt Lake City is very close to Denver (where I'm from originally) so the next time I'm in Denver I'll wave at your family over the mountains

Yes Emily & I had fun, I decided since I was ready for a night out I wasn't going to change my plans. I took her to a wonderful Resturant for Steak & Alaskan King Crab, she ordered a kids hamburger, which was fine with me ... I didn't have to share

My friend though was disapointed, she didn't want to go out with "kid in tow" so she didn't join us. Oh well, maybe next time ... whenever that may be

Now, forgive me .... is Wichita as big or bigger than KC ? Is there good shopping there

KC is much bigger than Wichita and has better shops than Wichita. There are some nice shops down in Wichita but not many. From here it is roughly 4 hours to Overland Park. Not too bad of a drive just long!
