coin quest problem

Post by DRAKO » Tue Aug 29, 2006 12:00 am

:D Hi All, I recently downloaded the coin quest series into platnum but I must have done something wrong as every time I hit custom levels to play them it brings up the files. I have unzipped all of the files and they are all in C drive but none have appeared in the custom folder. I am chomping at the bit to play Miss Lizzy's levels but I have stuffed up somewhere. HELP PLEASE!!!!!

When you unzip them, make sure to put them in the RTW's "Custom Levels" folder, not just to the C drive directly. RTW only looks in the custom flevels folder for custom levels. It will recognize sub-folders so if the zip came with a CoinQuest folder, it will be fine. As long as it's inside the Custom Levels folder.

Does that help? :D

coin quest problem

:D Hi Loirae, I unzipped them into platnum which is where the custom folder is (I think, I hope) I feel like such a dolt with a huge big "Homer" DOH!!! I was sure that I did it right this time but I will delete it all and try again. Is it the platnum folder where you save the custom levels?
Thanks
Annie

When I installed the RTW Deluxe, it went to C:\Return To Wonderland Deluxe. When I put in the upgrade to platinum, the install kept the same folder name with the word "deluxe" in it and just updated the files. In both cases, I have a C:\Return To Wonderland Deluxe\CustomLevels folder.

It is inside that folder where you'll have to have everything esle. Of course, you may have slightly different naming. Like C:\RTWD or C:\Wonderland depending on if you've customized it at all.

Here's a kinda simple way to find your folder structure:
Right click on the Icon you use to play wonderland and click "properties"

In the box, at the top, it will tell you where the game file is on the line labled "target" Example, mine says "C:\Return To Wonderland Deluxe\Wonderland.exe"

That's where you want to find your CustomLevels folder and that's where you'll want CQ.

Out of curiosity, have you tried downloading any other custom levels from the levels forum? If you have, have you been able to play them? If you have, take note of where you save them when you download them. Put the CQ levels (or folder) in the same location.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted. :D

Coin Quest Problem

:D Thanks Loirae, I will try it. I did download a custom level from the Wonderland newsletter #5. I downloaded it into platnum and I was able to play and finish it. That's why I thought I should do the same thing. I am such a retard when it comes to computers but this new pc I've got seems to have a mind of it's own. Sorry for being such a pain the the ar*e. I will take your advice and give it a whirl.
Thanks again

Thanks for giving Drako (Annie) this help Loirae - I hadn't seen the post until today.

There is also an excellent tutorial on file downloads here (You'll need to scroll down the page a short way):

Let us know if you have any more problems Annie!

Hope you enjoy Coin Quest. :D

Custom Downloads

Post by DRAKO » Wed Sep 06, 2006 7:13 pm

:D Hello Miss Tricky Lizzie. sorry I didn't reply earlier but I have been off line for a while playing CQ. Gen (along with some other wonderful wonderlanders gave me the advice that I needed. I was able to download your very tricky series and am enjoying them thoroughly. When I originally downloaded them I put them into platnum and tried to put textures into textures folder etc and so on and so forth. All I had to do was put them into custom levels, DOH! I don't have a by user folder and it did not come up under your name so I had to put them there. Anyway I am as happy as a clam. I've only managed about 30 levels so far but I am determined to give it a huge effort before I look at your hints or solutions. Thanks you for the many hours of pure fun.
