Server Migration Notice

Post by Midnight Synergy »

Hello folks,

just to let you know that I have ordered a new server to run the site and this forum on, and will be migrating to that server in the coming days. There will likely be a few hours of service interuption, and there might be some other hiccups (hopefully - keep your fingers crossed - nothing major). The actual migration might not occur until after the weekend, but this is just a heads up. I will update once migration is complete.

Hopefully the extra expense will help give you guys a smoother forum experience.

...and hopefully the extra expense won't mean you're living in a cardboard box while we're on here "blah, blah, blah-ing".

Hope it all goes smoothly. :D

Oh, don't worry about me. There are some stunning cardboard boxes around here. Beautiful views of the overpass!

I've found appliance boxes work best, heavy duty cardboard & rather roomy, if ya combine 2 or 3 together it makes a nice little condo

You do realize that this double post that mette had was because of the server lagging so bad?

And no, your double posts aren't the server's fault - you have one message, and then a double post as another message entirely, but anyone who suffered this double-post glitch has the same post twice in a row.

Well, I know how mine happened..it was because when I clicked submit it stalled and stalled so I hit submit again and it stalled and stalled so I hit submit again...etc....and that wasn't the first time it had happened to me.

Does it? It doesn't seem to happen to me.
Which type of connection are you using? Dial-up? If so, that could be the reason why it lags.

Don't worry, be happy. 8) It happened when the forum was on the old server, before your time.
