I spent most of the weekend making a tetris game maker game engine after I came up with the idea. With this engine you can make your own simple tetris games by editing sprites, sounds, backgrounds, and more. If you're a good game maker like me you can edit the objects but you should be careful. Try looking around the objects with no sprites that include variables to correctly edit them.

But there is a bug I couldn't really fix where the queue of blocks to be dropped next shortens just once when playing. I may make a new version with the bug fix. The rest of the features should be okay. Notify me for any more bugs. Look at the game info in the tetris engine GM file for more info on this.
