Emily & Qookie adventures

Post by laura n. » Mon Jun 20, 2005 3:52 am

It's been a week or better since I've written any updates. Our last adventure was shopping for hubby's birthday presents. That's when I discovered Qookie has such expensive taste.

Well, David's B-day rolled around and I've now discovered Qookies a selfish little stinker. She wanted to take credit for all the presents, including the beautiful Seiko watch I purchased for him. I guess the Godiva chocolate wasn't enough. (Maybe I should let Qookie pay the credit card bill for the watch. )
We all went out to dinner and to my suprise Qookie invited Puegee to come along. Hey, the more the merrier. Qookie & Puegee split a plate of chicken strips and fries, but when we returned home for B-day cake they both insisted on their own piece (on Zoo Pals plates of course) . They had a great time helping blow out the candles, in fact they had to do it twice.

This past week a bunch of us went to this amusement park in Branson called Silver Dollar City ( know locally as Steal your Dollar City) .
Of course Qookie came along and had a fantastic time, Her favorite ride was this water ride where every one piles into these canoe looking things
that rides you gently down & around this river... suddenly you find yourself being pulled up this incredibly steep hill only to be plunged down the other side into this pond, where everyone gets soaked from head to toe. Not only did Qookie and Emily LOVE this ride they insisted on riding in the very front. I guess I should of prefaced this by stating I HATE anything that plunges me down a steep hill of any type. We got a fantastic picture of us speeding down this hill of terror , Emily is smiling from ear to ear, Qookie was to small to see and I of course have a look of complete and total fright on my face. Puegee made a short apperance at the park, but I think he is rather shy as he went and waited in the car the rest of the afternoon. ( didn't like all the people).

I am dragging 2 towels twice a week to the local pool for swim lessons. Qookie and Emily are having a great time, both have gone from "bobbing"
around in the water to emersing themselves fully & jumping off the edge into the deep end ( 3 1/2 feet) . We do have small agruements over which swim suit Qookie is going to wear, apparently she doesn't like the hot pink one she picked out anymore she wants to wear one that's to small left over from last year. I have a solution to this issue, we're going to pass it along to Emilys cousin Katie.

In a couple of weeks our friends from Colorado are coming for a visit and all of us girls are going on a camp out. I've already been informed that Puegee will be joing us. Emilys said "Don't worry mommy Qookie and Puegee camp out all the time in Forever Forest in Wonderland so they won't be scared". I wonder who's really going to be scared? I think I'll bring plenty of flashlights. :D

Well, it's time to tuck Emily into bed, we've had another adventurouse day hanging out with Daddy on Fathers Day. I may even get to play a level or two after she's asleep The Void and Cloud City are the only things I have to complete before rescuing the little stinkers, I'm sure I'll be back on here looking for help.

Stay tuned in for the next chapter of the Emily and Qookie adventures.
(I'm really happy to see my daughter has such a vivid imagination)

HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO ALL

Wonderful, Laura. It sounds as if Emily and Qookie are keeping you very busy this summer. Tell Qookie that pink looks lovely on her. She was being very naughty, wasn't she, when she tried to take all the credit for the gifts. Does the credit card company accept checks from the First Bank of Wonderland?
Qookie and Peegue should be great fun camping. I'll bet they are expert marshmallow toasters. Don't let them tell too many scarey stories around the campfire.
Tell Emily that our local amusement park, Busch Gardens, has one of those water rides too. It's a log flume ride and it's one of my and my children's favorites. My son works there, so maybe Qookie can come with Peegue and try it out to tell Emily how much fun it is. :D
Congratulations to Emily and Qookie on graduating to the deep end. Before you know it they'll be competing with each other in swim races. :D
Love the adventures, Laura. Thanks. :D

Thanks for the hilarious update Laura.

So you've got Peegue along now too! Hope he doesn't work out as expensive as Qookie. As Mayor of Wonderland he should be able to meet some of the costs. 8)
